Supports healthy immune system and thyroid function, and promotes healthy hair, skin and nails

Selenium Citrate - Promotes healthy hair, skin and nails and also supports immune system function and is a necessary component of thyroid synthesis

Benefits of Selenium

  • Promotes heart, brain and liver health, and healthy cell division
  • Supports healthy immune system and thyroid function
  • Supports optimal health and longevity
  • Enhances normal spermatogenesis and healthy fertility in men
  • Promotes healthy hair and nails
  • Supports the body against the effects of oxidative stress

Selenium Citrate is important for the maintenance of healthy hair and nails, for growth and reproduction, as well as for organs, including the heart, brain, and the liver. It may also help support longevity. In addition, selenium contributes to normal spermatogenesis, which of course is important for fertility in men.

This micronutrient is required by the body to make numerous antioxidant enzymes which the body then uses to help protect it against free radical damage. It is involved in thyroid function, is needed for the immune system, and works with vitamin E as a potent antioxidant.

High doses (over 1g) of vitamin C, another powerful antioxidant, may assist in selenium absorption.

Unfortunately today, selenium is found at low levels in many soils. The content of selenium in each food depends in which soil food is grown. A sufficient supply of selenium, along with iodine and iron, two other essential trace elements, is needed not only for healthy thyroid development, but also for thyroid health in adolescence as well as in adults and the ageing population.

Selenium is best taken together with antioxidant supplements, such as vitamin E, vitamin C, and vitamin D.

As a dietary supplement, adults take one capsule, once or twice daily.

Take 30 minutes before a meal with a glass of water, or as directed by a healthcare professional.

Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct light.

Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

Keep out of reach of young children.

Children, pregnant women, and women who are breastfeeding should consult their doctor before use.

Nutritional supplements should not replace a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.

Check with simultaneous intake of medicines with your physician or healthcare professional. No long-term use without professional advice.

Contraindications:

Selenium may affect or interfere with the absorption of proton-pump inhibitors (PPIs, used to treat reflux) and histamine blockers.
